Puzzling Painting
cw: grief, loss, sad artist being sad
[Renoir keeps one part of his mind tuned to his objectives. First, he directs his thoughts towards the need to unearth people and bring them home, back to somewhere that feels nothing like it. Second, he plans to ingratiate himself into this society to make that happen. He focuses on the latter because he possesses no motivation to care about the former.

The one person here he cares for no longer wants his support. His loss of connection leaves him wandering around the edges of the crowd, observing their actions or listening to conversations. It is when he is looking at a painting in one of the corridors that he finds himself becoming a subject.

Has he seen it? He created it.]
